This month-long challenge encourages participants to walk, run, cycle, swim, or take part in any activity that suits them while raising sponsorship along the way. There’s no event day and no set route, so you can complete the challenge whenever and wherever works best for you. Simply choose your distance: 31 miles (one mile a day), 62 miles (two miles a day) or 93 miles (three miles a day).
Whether you’re thanking the NHS for care received, celebrating a recovery, remembering a loved one or simply giving something back to local hospitals, every step will help support patients, families and NHS staff across Northamptonshire.
Designed to be inclusive and accessible, Steps of Hope is open to individuals, families, friends, colleagues and community groups of all ages and abilities. However you choose to take part, every mile counts. Participants can track their progress using a fitness app, phone step counter or a simple activity log, making it easy to fit around everyday life.

One participant, Sadie, is taking part in Steps of Hope in memory of her son, Donnie, who was stillborn. Following his loss, she became determined to help other families experiencing baby loss and bereavement. After raising more than £23,000 for the Charity’s Daisy Suite Appeal last year, she is now taking on her next fundraising challenge.
Through Steps of Hope, Sadie is continuing Donnie’s legacy while helping to fund projects that support patients and families across Northamptonshire. Her story shows how people can turn personal experiences into positive action, creating lasting benefits for others.
