Thanks to the kind and generous donations to Northamptonshire Health Charity, we have recently funded 10 x Marsden Patient Transfer Scales for the elderly, medical and surgical wards at Northampton General Hospital.
These specialist scales have become very popular amongst staff as they've helped increase the number of patients being weighed and having their nutritional status assessed regularly, which helps to prevent malnutrition and associated complications.
Immobile patients can be weighed when being transferred from trolley to bed much easier as they do not require hoisting.
This specialist equipment arrived at the hospital at the start of January for staff to be trained in their use so they are now out on wards across the hospital bringing huge benefits to patients.
