We want to say a massive congratulations and thank you to the lovely Sharon Mitchell for completing her 100km in May challenge last month.
Not only did she complete the 100km (62.2 miles), Sharon went on to run 200km over the month, doubling her original target.
For a self-confessed non-runner we think this is absolutely amazing!
Following her diagnosis with Breast Cancer in May last year, Sharon wanted to give something back to the Breast Care Team at Kettering General Hospital that looked after her so well during her treatment.
She’s done an incredible job raising over £5,000 for the team via Northamptonshire Health Charity.
We really loved Sharon’s poem about her cancer and fundraising journey so much that we wanted to share it with you all here.
Sharon has since been diagnosed with having the cancer BRCA2 gene and will be having a further two operations as part of her treatment.
We think she is truly inspirational and wish her lots of luck with her operation this week and a full and speedy recovery.
