This amazing young man is 8-year-old Ollie Thomson who has raised a fantastic £150 for Allebone ward at Northampton General Hospital.
[caption id="attachment_5735" align="aligncenter" width="980"] 8-year-old Ollie Thomson came in to present the £150 he's raised to Debbie Curtis, Ward Sister on Allebone at NGH.[/caption] Ollie was set the challenge to give up chocolate for lent by his family this year and if he could complete the challenge they'd donate money to a charity of his choice.
Back in January Ollie's dad, James was admitted to Allebone after being diagnosed with pneumonia and Covid so upon being asked where he wanted the money he'd raised to go he instantly replied with, "the ward that looked after Daddy." It was such a pleasure to meet Ollie when he came in to the Northamptonshire Health Charity office to present the £150 he's raised to Allebone Sister Debbie Curtis, who bought along a certificate the ward had made for him too.
Ollie has really captured the hearts of the ward staff.
All the Easter eggs and other treats he received after completing the challenge were very well-deserved after giving up chocolate for so long.
A huge well done to you Ollie!
And a massive thank you from all of us and all on Allebone ward for helping to make a difference to patients on the ward.
What a true superstar!!
