M.A.D Group

Music and Dance group (M.

A.

D) are a local community group with roughly 60 children from the age of 8-18.

The group put together and perform shows to the public.

They have 2 shows a year, February and July and this year it is their 30th anniversary!

The group helps the children with confidence, socialising and give those who what to be a performer that perfect start on stage.

As the children get older they are then encouraged to lead and help the younger children with their performances as well.

Sarah and Natalie who both run the group joined when they were just 10 and 7 years of age.

They grew up in the group and then have stayed on to now bring it to it's 30th year!

Raising money through raffles etc the group chose to support Paddington ward as they wanted "children supporting children" as it's important to let children know just how lucky they are and to help others.

Sarah's son, Adam was cared for in Paddington ward at just 5 days old due to having cardiac problems, so this was already close to her heart.

Adam is now a very happy healthy 9 month old.

Sarah, Natalie and two of the members Caelyn (joined the group aged 11) and Laura (joined the group aged 8) came in to present their donation of £1,000 to the ward.

Chris Wood (Paediatrics manager) and Alison Waples (Paddington Lead Nurse) showed the group two pieces equipment that they will be able to buy with their donation.

A portable suction machine, to aid when taking the children to theatre and a Doppler machine which measures the blood pressure on small children.

A big thank you to everyone at MAD for your support for Paddington ward and wishing you the best of luck for your next performance!
