Kettering Town Cricket raise over £2,000 for Twinkling Stars

During the first lockdown last year on 10th May, Martin Reece and the lovely folk at Kettering Town Cricket Club embarked upon their own kind of unique T10 challenge.

The aim of this was to encourage members to do some form of physical activity factoring in the number 10.

Martin himself cycled around 10 of the local cricket clubs while others did things like cycling 10k and someone even chose to do 1,000 catches.

They set up a Just Giving page so that people could sponsor them for their many different activities and this initially raised an incredible £1,739.

An additional £359.42 was raised this year and we are so grateful that Martin and the club members chose to donate the money raised to Northamptonshire Health Charity in aid of the Twinkling Stars appeal for the new maternity bereavement suite at Kettering General Hospital.

The new facilities will be somewhere families who have suffered a loss can get quiet, compassionate and supportive care and spend time with their loved one away from the labour ward.

It was such a pleasure to visit the cricket club on a very hot and sunny Wednesday evening at the end of June to meet Martin and a number of the other wonderful members who helped raised this fantastic £2,098.42 for Twinkling Stars.

A big thank you to Martin, to all the members who got involved with their numerous T10 activities and to everyone who kindly sponsored them.
