Cameron Sheikh completed the Milton Keynes marathon in May to raise money to support the Do it for Dementia appeal.
He was first inspired to support the cause after seeing the lovely Jill Garret in the Insight magazine raising awareness of the disease and of the appeal.
Cameron’s family have a history of the disease with 3 members of his immediate family being affected.
Cameron raised over £1,500 for the appeal which will go to purchase memory/activity boxes for each ward in the hospital.
There is no specific dementia ward in the hospital as patients come in with dementia as their secondary illness.
Having a box on each ward will engage patients in activities which are therapeutic and mentally stimulating.
Cameron also works at Northampton General in the Theatre so he met up with Jill Garret - dementia Liaison Nurse and Karen Wesley - Occupational Therapist to present his donation to them as seen in the top picture.
Thank you for your support Cameron!!
