Lovely 86-year old gentleman, Jim Price, has dusted off his dancing shoes in a bid to raise funds in aid of Northampton General Hospital as a thank you for the care he's received over the last few years.
Launching his month-long tap-dancing marathon last Friday 3rd July at Broadmead Community Church – where members helped to do his food shopping during lockdown - Jim was interviewed by the Northampton Chronicle and has also since spoken to Anglia TV about his fundraising challenge.
Check out this video of Jim’s mighty fine tap-dancing moves at last Friday’s launch.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lZ5yrsoZsM He has pledged to tap dance once daily to a different song, at his home at St Christopher’s Care Home in Abington, throughout the whole of July.
“I thought about Captain Tom,” says Jim, “and he’s quite a bit older than me and I thought, if he can do it then so can I.
I’ve applied some WD40 to my knees…” Jim has so far already beaten the target of £1,000 he set, having raised an incredible £1,027 in just a few days.
He will be returning to Broadmead Community Church for the grand finale on 31st July.

Thank you so much, Jim - what an absolute star you are!
