Latest 24 hour gaming live stream raises £2,500 for I.T.U!

A massive thank you to James Welford, his brother George and friend Luke Nunn for raising £2,500 for ITU!!

James Welford, his brother George and friend Luke Nunn have recently raised a fantastic £2,510.40 for our ITU department via a 24 hour live stream!

This smashes right through the £2,000 target they set!!!

December 2017 marked the 4th year running James, George and Luke did a 24 hour gaming live stream to raise money for ITU, broadcast via James’ YouTube channel.

These gaming marathons have become a yearly tradition ever since the first event in 2014.

Their reason for fundraising for ITU follows James and George’s Nan, Isabelle McDonald’s experience in the department in March 2013.

Isabelle has continually praised the care she received for pneumonia from staff.

The incredible efforts of these three young lads has in total now raised just over £5,000!!!

The picture to the left shows Luke, James and George presenting their first cheque to Emma Madden on ITU back in 2015.

The money from their donations has been used towards running an invaluable support group called ICUsteps.

This supports former patients and the relatives of those who have been in intensive care.

The group meets every six weeks at the County Cricket ground in Northampton and welcomes both new and old people who have encountered critical illness.

Emma says, "Sharing experiences with others has helped people to understand that they're not alone in what they feel and think....more often than not, what they've experienced is normal for someone who's been through a period of critical illness.” Thank you so much James, George and Luke for your amazing continued support for ITU at the hospital!
