Beth raised nearly £900 from her raffle to fund welcome packs for patients Beth Panter works on Switchboard at Kettering General Hospital but she took an idea for enhancing patient experience that she had whilst working as a member of the bank team on Twywell and Lamport wards and made it a reality!
Beth noticed some elderly patients arriving at the hospital with few or no personal items and it sparked an idea: A Welcome Pack to make patients feel comfortable with things like a comb, deodorant, small mirror etc plus something to do, a word search, pen/pencil and a pad and paper to write things down in or to draw.
Beth organised a raffle raising £876 devoting hours to sourcing prizes and investing the money raised to buy items she needed, arranging deliveries/collections and preparing the packs ready to be handed out to patients on the ward.
All in her own time.
Lorena Delgado on behalf of Twywell and Lamport wards said,

We can’t wait to see her handing out the welcome packs.
She has done an amazing job.
So compassionate with our patients and proactive.
Beth, we think you are AWESOME and these packs will make such a difference to patients.
THANK YOU so much!
