A massive thank you to Darren Wootton for raising nearly £1,500 for Gosset ward by way of a very long-distance walking challenge.

Little Olivia Wootton was born at 29 weeks and spent the first 3 months of her life on Gosset ward.
Olivia’s dad, Darren wanted to give something back to Gosset to thank the staff for the great medical support Olivia received during her tough first few months.
He didn’t take on just any old light challenge, either.
Darren walked a colossal 40 miles, taking part in the Cyril Bean 22nd Annual “Coventry Way Challenge” back in April.
Needless to say, his feet were not too happy.
But, they persevered and we are so grateful to him for putting himself through such a tough challenge to raise money for Gosset.
Darren has raised an incredible £1,485 for above & beyond initiatives at the Special Care Baby Unit at the hospital.
He came in with wife, Vicki and daughters Olivia and Isabel to present this wonderful donation to ward staff.
It was their first time back on the ward since having to spend yet more time there when Isabel was born.
It was great to see the two girls so active and playful and lovely to meet both Darren and Vicki.
It was a great opportunity for them to speak to some staff who had actually been there while Olivia was being cared for, as well as briefly chat to other parents of children currently being looked after.
Thank you Darren for supporting Gosset via Northamptonshire Health Charity!
