Thank you Dan Perry & James Gregory for your £450 donation for Haematology

A big thank you to Daniel Perry & James Gregory, who after fundraising last year have gifted a donation of £450 to the Haematology department We would like to send a very special thank you to Dan Perry for kindly choosing to donate £450 to the haematology department.

Dan’s mum has been undergoing treatment at the hospital over the last 18 months and he wanted to do something to raise money for good causes close to their hearts.

So, he decided to do some fundraising and came up with a few interesting ideas.

He convinced his friend James to join him in a skydive.

Now, James is not a fan of heights so this was a huge deal for him to even go up in a plane.

To jump out of one at the end will have taken a huge amount of courage.

It was all for great causes though.

They also each shaved their heads, which together with a raffle at the George Inn in Brixworth, bought in a fantastic amount.

They washed around 150 cars during 4 mass car washes in Brixworth, 3 of which were held at Sunny Socks Nursery School.

A huge thanks to the wonderful people of Brixworth village who were really supportive and generous when it came to Dan and James’ fundraising.

The pair raised an incredible £4,450 in total over just 3 months.

£2,000 each went to Cancer Research UK and Macmillan, with £450 donated to the haematology department at the hospital.

Dan & James came in just before Christmas to present their donation to Netty Steele, Sister of the unit.

They also bought in mince pies for the staff and patients.

Netty was thrilled to receive the donation highlighting that it could go towards a new loan wheelchair for patients to use when they need one.

Our thanks to you both for thinking of the hospital in making this donation!
