Local school’s carnival fundraising for Children’s Outside Play Area

We recently caught up with the Bridgewater Primary School team following their collection on their float at the Northampton Carnival back in June.

They were delighted to have collected £123.05 for our Children's Outside Play Area Appeal at Northampton General Hospital.

We are very grateful to their continued support for NGH via Northamptonshire Health Charity and to all those that made a donation during the carnival procession.

Bridgewater Primary is the local school that provides such moving and heart-warming letters, written by their pupils in two different year groups, for elderly patients in hospital at Christmas.

We are able to pop the lovely handwritten letters into the gift bags that go out to these patients each year.

They move some to tears and are especially welcome by those elderly patients who have little, or no family and thus no visitors on the day.

They are so well-received with some patients writing back to the pupils via the school to thank them for thinking about them.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Headteacher, Mrs Alison Harvey and all of the lovely teachers, pupils and parents who made Rob and Michelle feel so welcome on Carnival day.

They certainly clocked up their steps for the day but it was great to see so many people out lining the streets to support everyone involved.
