A message of thanks from the Children’s Wards

Thank YOU for making Christmas that little bit better for children and their families at the hospital!

Further to our thanks to you for making our >>Christmas Gifts for Patients appeal 2017<< such a huge success, we have received some lovely feedback from the Children’s wards.

Paddington Ward Sister Chris Wood would like to express her gratitude for being incredibly fortunate over the festive season.

The children's wards at the hospital received so many lovely gifts for both parents and the children.

Parents received some fantastic overnight boxes, which were very greatly received.

One parent described this as a life saver.

The boxes contained a cup, tissues, chocolate, camera for pictures, bed socks etc… Parents of children receiving Christmas presents were delighted!

Two such parents commented how fantastic it was that Santa had visited at midnight to deliver sacks full of presents to children of all ages on the wards.

The parent’s room was well stocked with all manner of festive delights and daily rounds of chocolate and mince pies made their stay a little better.

One added bonus was that whilst working on New Year’s Eve, Waitrose at Wootton rang the ward to say they were donating mince pies if we could collect.

Chris’ husband kindly collected what turned out to be 5 crates full!!

During her break Chris delivered mince pies to all wards and several departments across the trust (including the site office).

“This was a joyful task to wish everybody a happy new year”.

Once again, our dearest heartfelt thanks to EVERYONE who donated to the Christmas Gift appeal in 2017!

We really couldn't do this without your kindness and generosity!!
