Meet the Team

The charity team is only a  small team, and as there is only a handful of us, we are proud that we are able to get to know our fundraisers and are able to thank people on a more personal basis.

The charity team are here to help you with any queries or support that you might need for your fundraising.

Jonathan McGee – Chief Executive

Jonathan has over twenty-five years’ experience adding commercial and brand value in B2B, life science, healthcare, charitable and not-for-profit sectors. Previous to Northamptonshire Health Charity, Jonathan led on fundraising, communications and expenditure at another hospital charity, Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.

Caroline Donaghy – Governance Manager

Caroline has worked for the charity since 2013.  Successfully completing her final level four AAT in 2019, she now manages the daily and monthly finances of the charity; as well as grant purchases with both Trusts.  Caroline previously worked in the insolvency sector but wanted a job where she could work in finance and feel like she was helping people at the same time.

Caroline enjoys spending time outdoors camping, gardening and walking her beagle Bentley.  She also loves crafts such as sewing and making lace.

Justine Cullimore – Charity Administrator

Justine’s connection with Northampton General Hospital started in 2008 when she started volunteering for “the Friends of NGH” when her children were very young. From there she was employed part time by “the Friends” charity to help with the smooth running of the charity including fundraising and supporting the volunteers.

Since 2019 Justine has worked in several Departments within the hospital providing administrative support and she joined the charity in March 2022 as our Charity Administrator.

In her free time, she enjoys tennis, country walks, cooking, and spending time with her husband and 18-year-old twin boys.

Alison McCulloch – Head of Expenditure & Impact

Since graduating in Business at Salford University, Alison worked as a qualified mortgage advisor from 2003. In 2010, Alison joined the charity as a Community Fundraiser for Northampton General Hospital where her key responsibility was raising the profile of the charity within local community and throughout the trust. Three of her key successes during this time was improving the environment of the hospital, improving the quality of technology used throughout the trust and developing a new joint charity with Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust. All of this has culminated in progressing to the Head of Fundraising, leading a great fundraising team to drive the charity forward. Outside of work, Alison loves nothing more than spending time with her friends and family and walking her miniature schnauzer Zach.

Louise Abarak – Charity Accountant

Louise joined the charity initially as maternity cover but is now employed on a permanent basis following the continued growth of the charity.  With over 10 years of experience working in finance, she is excited to share her knowledge and experiences she has picked up along the way with the Charity.  Louise is a natural at streamline processes and thinks outside of the box to bring valuable solutions. Louise is environmentally conscious and enjoys spending time with her family.

Ben Barker – Marketing & Communications Lead

Ben is no stranger to the local NHS trusts we support, having previously worked at University Hospitals of Northamptonshire. He combines his commercial expertise with a passion for making a positive impact. Ben loves to be able to share good news stories about the incredible work our charity and its fundraisers do. 

Alfie Wright – Head of Fundraising & Community

Alfie started in his role at Northamptonshire Health Charity in April 2024. He is responsible for overseeing are fundraising from individuals. This includes Community and Events, Individual Giving, In Memory and Gifts in Wills.

Alfie began working in the charity sector in 2010, processing donations and responding to supporter enquiries at the Stroke Association. Over the years, he has helped to grow income and nurture relationships with supporters at organisations including the NSPCC, Acorns Children’s Hospice, and Sue Ryder.
Since 2011, in addition to his professional work, Alfie has volunteered for the Newman Holiday Trust. Currently, he volunteers as the Holidays Manager, supporting and overseeing the delivery of UK-based respite holidays for children with additional needs.

Justine Cheadle – Community Fundraiser

Justine joined the team in 2023 and is based at our Kettering Office supporting fundraising within North Northamptonshire. As a Fashion Graduate with over twenty years experience in retail & visual merchandising, Justine is a highly creative individual who has worked globally for iconic fashion retailers. Following a career break to have a family Justine has been running a successful Event Design business for the past 10 years organising large scale events to intimate gatherings, and brings with her a wealth of varied marketing experience and a passion for supporting local healthcare.

In her spare time Justine enjoys being outdoors with her family, walking, camping, setting herself goals and making them happen!

Sophie Ockwell – Individual Giving Lead

Sophie, originally from Cornwall, is our Individual Giving Lead and previously worked at the Motor Neurone Disease Association for five years. Her knowledge and experience in the charity sector is a great addition to our team, and we can’t wait to see her develop our Individual Giving program.

Abbie Campbell – Community & Events Fundraiser

Abbie joined the team in September 2022.

Abbie came from working at Northampton General Hospital as a medical secretary and graduated in 2019 from The University of Northampton with a degree in Events Management.

In her spare time Abbie enjoys quizzes, bingo, spending time with her nephew and looking after her pet rabbit Dougie.

Christina Kelly – Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships

Christina has worked within the charity sector for over 10 years, having joined KGH Charity Fund in 2009 before it merged with Northamptonshire Health Charity in 2021.

Prior to this, her background was within sales and marketing, and she has always been passionate about supporting public services, working for 5 years as a Special Constable for the Police after achieving a qualification in Public Services.

Since joining the Charity, Christina has developed a wealth of experience across the board within all major income streams and also in developing strategies, policies and procedures. Within her role now, she largely focuses on impact reporting, operational development projects and assists with governance objectives.

Christina has a love and appreciation of nature and the elements. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors (in any weather) and caravanning with her family at coastal locations around the UK.

Nick Hayton – Corporate & Community Fundraiser

Nick joined the team in 2023,  based at our Kettering Office and focuses largely on developing corporate and community relationships within North Northamptonshire.

Nick has an abundance of charity sector and local authority experience having had an extensive career in managing local authority leisure facilities, which included 20 years at Corby Borough Council and over 10 years’ experience supporting a number of charities and local organisations. He’s been successful in obtaining significant grant funding e.g gaining over £2.1m Lottery funding to redevelop Lodge Park Sports Centre, Football Foundation funding of £750,000 to develop West Glebe Pavilion, and was involved in the development of Corby East Midlands International Pool. He also has an array of community and fundraising event experience and a wealth of local knowledge.

Outside work Nick has enjoyed taking part in the London Marathon and Great North Runs to raise funds for local causes close to his heart. He also enjoys quizzes, watching sport and keeping fit.
