Spreading the Joy of Christmas to Patients and NHS Staff

Thanks to the incredible generosity of you, our supporters, we were able to bring comfort and festive cheer to thousands of patients and NHS staff across Northamptonshire this Christmas through our Northamptonshire Elf Service Christmas Appeal.

Throughout the festive period, thanks to your support we delivered almost 2,000 carefully curated gift boxes to patients in local hospitals and community care settings. Each box was suitable for all wards and ages, filled with safe, thoughtful items, and designed to offer reassurance and comfort during what can be a challenging time of year.

We also delivered festive treats to more than 2,500 NHS staff members working over Christmas, including:

  • Over 700 tubs of chocolates,
  • 510 large jars of coffee,
  • 540 packets of tea bags,
  • 387 jars of hot chocolate,
  • And over 1,200 packs of mince pies.

Our annual ‘Raffle of Joy’ also helped make this possible, with fantastic prizes sponsored by EquiTech in Northampton and RCI Europe in Kettering. This year’s raffle included a £2,500 cash first prize, £1,000 second prize, and a third prize of a seven-night self-catering holiday plus £250 cash.

We’d also like to thank all of the businesses and community groups, plus the NHS staff who fundraised to support our appeal and make it a huge success.

What your support means

One patient told us, “Your gift box made my day,” while another said, “It’s often the small things that bring comfort – thank you for everything you do.” Families also shared how meaningful it was to know their loved one had been thought of during a difficult Christmas period.

“We are so grateful to everyone who supported our Christmas appeal,” said Alfie Dutfield-Wright, our Head of Fundraising. “Every donation, fundraising event, and raffle ticket helped bring festive cheer to thousands of patients and NHS staff. Your generosity made Northamptonshire Elf Service a real success, and we thank you for helping us spread kindness and joy this Christmas.”
