Thank you all so much! Your support is helping to make a big difference!

Thank you for making a difference The support we’ve received since the COVID outbreak has been overwhelming.

It’s thanks to kind and generous people like you donating & fundraising for Northamptonshire Health Charity that has allowed us to support our local NHS staff & their patients through this very difficult time.

We'd like to thank each and every one of you who has made a donation or got involved with raising funds.

We shared a brief post of images last month but again, here’s how you have helped make a difference: Kindness boxes & pop up stations Provide snacks, drinks & treats delivered to wards & departments at Northampton General Hospital and can be grabbed by frontline staff on the go.

These treats have also been delivered to weekly pop up stations at the community & mental health hospitals.

All thanks to a mountain of donations from local businesses, our amazon wish list & from funds donated.

Tablets, portable radios & activities for isolated patients [caption id="attachment_4312" align="alignright" width="300"] Tablets & portable radios for patients[/caption] 54 tablets donated & others funded allowing patients to have video calls with loved ones.

They’ve also helped facilitate group activities for isolated mental health patients.

They provide entertainment along with portable radios, puzzle & colouring books, playing cards & a host of other activity items for patients in hospital and receiving care in the community.

“To be able to see my dad’s face on a screen, it was the closest thing we’re going to get!

My family & I are eternally grateful for the opportunity you’ve given us!” [caption id="attachment_4331" align="alignleft" width="407"] NGH 'Our Space' room where staff can relax and access support if they need it.[/caption] NGH Our Space & Green Space Calming area for NGH staff accessible 24/7.

Somewhere to relax & access support.

Similar outdoor green spaces will follow.

Staff accommodation Furnishing & practical supplies for emergency accommodation for all frontline staff unable to return home due to working in COVID areas or longer shifts.

Community maternity hub We’ve part-funded the alternative accommodation at The Saints Rugby ground for the community midwifery team to resume their services.

This means pregnant ladies will now have that all-important support once more.

Books for children Lovely books for children, illustrated by Axel Scheffer of The Gruffalo fame, helping to make sense of the coronavirus pandemic for children in hospital and those at the short break centres in the county.

Rehab kits for ITU patients Some COVID patients in ITU have been in hospital for many weeks so we’ve been able to provide the unit with funds for rehab packs for them.

They include things like stress balls, therabands, playing cards, puzzle books, portable cd players.

Amazon Fire tablets have also been provided with calming & hypnosis apps installed.

Sensory room at Berrywood Creation of a multisensory room on Cove ward at Berrywood Hospital providing a diverse tranquil space able to provide numerous benefits for service users and for staff.

[caption id="attachment_4209" align="alignleft" width="225"] Birthday packs for patients[/caption] Development of community hospital gardens From the Brookview garden at Berrywood designed specifically for the therapeutic needs of its dementia patients; developing the large outdoor space at Isebrook making it accessible & functional for patients on Hazelwood ward; to the new multipurpose workspace for outdoor therapeutic activities for patients at the Welland Centre, St Mary’s Hospital in Kettering.

Domestic & porter changing area Often the “forgotten relative”, it is so important to ensure ALL staff have a pleasant environment in which to take their breaks.

During this pandemic, the domestic & portering teams have been going above & beyond for the safe, effective smooth running of NGH.

Their break area & changing facilities need to be completely refurbished to create a calm and welcoming area.

This will help boost morale and staff wellbeing.

These projects & initiatives (& more to follow) are happening all thanks to you!

You really have made a difference!
