Aimee’s Nan, Marjorie holds a coffee morning each year and donates proceeds to charity.

This year, Marjorie very kindly chose the Stroke Unit to benefit from the £745 they raised.

On Monday 30th April about 60 people descended on Marjorie’s home to enjoy coffee and of course there were cakes available – including a very tasty sounding home-made lemon drizzle and a chocolate fudge cake, made by Aimee.

There was also a raffle, with attendees receiving one raffle ticket for their entry fee, but they were also able to purchase more tickets on the morning if they wanted to.

And with about 100 prizes on offer the raffle proved a huge success!

Aimee and Marjorie came in to present a cheque to Dr Mel Blake & Eleanor Ward Sister Vicki Moore last week.

They were thrilled to see how well Aimee is doing following her recovery and truly grateful to receive this incredible donation.

There are a few projects being considered by the Unit at present so these funds will be put towards something that will help support the ward deliver the best possible to care to stroke patients.

Thank you so much to you Aimee & Marjorie and our thanks to everyone who attended enabling you to raise such a fantastic amount!
