Thanks to the Anticoagulant team for raising more than £1,000 for haematology for their colleague [caption id="attachment_3987" align="aligncenter" width="980"] Anticoag staff raised over £1,000 for haematology[/caption] The Anticoagulant team at Northampton General Hospital have been really hard at work fundraising in aid of the Haematology department.
They have been doing this to show support for one of their colleagues, Chris.
Chris has been a nurse at the hospital for 20 years and has been receiving treatment in the department for Hodgkins Lymphoma.
As a show of solidarity for Chris, members of the anticoag team have all taken on personal and group challenges and he asked for the money raised to be donated to Haematology.
A wide array of activities has been undertaken, including a raffle/tombola, 10k and half marathon runs, a wine and cheese tasting evening and 3D printing phone holders have been sold – collectively the team have raised a fantastic £1,185.
As they signed up for the Challenge 500 staff initiative too, Northamptonshire Health Charity will be matching £500!
Haematology Sister, Netty Steele would like to use these funds raised to purchase a relaxing vibrating chair to benefit the patients attending their treatments.
Northamptonshire Health Charity are delighted to be able to support the purchase of such equipment that will enhance the care and facilities available to patients at what is often a very difficult time for them.
