A huge thanks to Laurence for choosing to support Talbot Butler with fundraising during his year as Captain at Farthingstone Golf Club and particularly from his Captain's Day last July.
He had hoped to raise £2,500 for the ward as a thank you for the exceptional care they gave to his wife almost 20 years before.
A fantastic achievement to have raised over £1,000 more than this initial target!
It is thanks to the wonderful support from fellow golfers and so many people in the local community that enabled Laurence to raise this incredible amount.
A special mention for Sarah Coyne for all the amazing hard work that went into organizing a very busy and fun-packed Easter Sunday Fun Day at the Malsters Arms in Weedon last year.
It was a blisteringly hot day as we were in the grip of a mini-heatwave at the time but the pub garden was packed full of people taking part in bingo and various other activities, raising over £500.
Rob went along to support and was also lucky enough to be asked to be on the judging panel of the cake competition!
Sarah then went on to arrange an awesome Meet Santa event on 1st December at The Plume of Feathers, which raised yet more towards the total.
[caption id="attachment_4739" align="alignleft" width="400"] Local children got to meet Santa in his grotto at The Plume of Feathers in Weedon on 1st December last year[/caption] Sending our thanks again to Alan Lilley and Simon Wells for donating all the meat - and also to Vicky at Tesco and James at Aldi for donating so much of the food for the Captain's Day itself, back in July.
Thanks also goes to Granny's Cafe and Tilly's Pet Supplies for their support for Laurence and to the One Stop store in Weedon with a special mention for Heidi for helping out with all the money that was being raised and all the change collected in the many donation cans Laurence placed out at the golf course and in the local community.
And of course thanks to all those who kindly sponsored the tees on the golf course!
Everyone coming together to help Laurence with his fundraising shows how a local community works so amazing together for great causes.
Junior Sister on Talbot Butler ward, Chelsea Jackson came up to the office to meet Laurence and Sarah when they came in and for a photo.
The £3,733 raised will go a long way towards enhancing patient care and experience on the ward.
There's one potential project that is very exciting and which will make a huge difference for patients but we have to wait for some preliminary research to be completed before we can share more on this.
We will share updates about this as soon as we can.
Thanks again to Laurence for supporting Talbot Butler ward by fundraising for Northamptonshire Health Charity.
