NHS Big Tea Parties raise £1,436
A number of NHS Big Tea Parties in July raised £1,436 for the charity while celebrating the birthday of our NHS!
Thank you so much to everyone who got involved with the NHS Big Tea Party campaign this year – you helped raise almost £1,500 for us!! It was lovely that people got so involved and were able to “raise a cuppa” to the NHS on its Birthday on Friday 5th July. There’s no strict rule that your NHS Big Tea Party MUST be on 5th July though, and there a number of those supporting us that were held on different dates.
Following its launch last year, the NHS Big Tea Party seeks to not only raise funds for charities supporting NHS Trusts across the country, but to also raise awareness that we do actually exist. We would love to grow this wonderful event over the next few years leading up to the 75th Birthday celebrations in 2023.
Thanks to Carol Rees & the Cardiology team for raising £259.12 for the hospital’s General Fund.
Thanks to Chelsea Carnall for organising a tea party in the Luke Radiotherapy waiting room. This event raised £213.14 towards the new Radiotherapy Waiting Area appeal.
Also a special mention to NGH volunteers Fiona Murphy and Anne Fincham who each helped out with the events in Cardiology and Radiotherapy – and to the many NGH volunteers who very kindly made an array of delicious cakes and snacks for the parties too – thank you!!
Our thanks to the supportive members of the local NHS Retirement Fellowship who held a party at their July meeting and raised £257 in aid of the Quiet Relatives Room on Brampton Ward; and to Jayne Adamson and staff at Danetre Outpatients who raised £192.83 towards new equipment from the event they held on 11th July.
Over at Isebrook Hospital in Wellingborough, the lovely staff on Hazelwood Ward put on a fantastic party for the patients and their relatives, raising a wonderful £160; while the NHFT Communications team raised £100; and the Corporate Affairs team at St Mary’s raised £59, both for the General Fund to benefit projects across the county.
