New Barbers chair and Clippers for Cancer Patients

Cancer patients at Northampton General Hospital have received a brand new barbers chair, with footstool and clippers thanks to the Northampton Lions Club!

The Hair and Beauty Service in the Oncology department at the hospital are extremely pleased with their new chair.

The new chair has replaced the old and very uncomfortable one.

It was very uncomfortable, especially for the elderly, those who have back and abdominal problems, due to their cancer or cancer treatment.

This new chair will help many clients who are going through cancer treatment who could be loosing their hair and/or looking into the option of having wigs, or even learning how to put a head scarf on.

The new chair and foot rest will make their patients experience an even better one as they will be more comfortably seated during their visit to the Hair and Beauty Service.

Thank you!!

Thank you to the Northampton Lions club for your generous donation to purchase these!!

Debbie Smith, hair and beauty co-ordinator said "the chair and clippers have already made a massive difference to the care that I provide to patients.

They are now able to be seated more comfortably and the cable free clippers make it easier for me to help cut  patients who are less mobile or in their beds.

The other upside is my back is so much better now that I don’t have to bend over everyone during wig fitting and hair cutting.

thanks again for all their fundraising efforts"
