Hospital staff panto supports rehabilitation garden

It was an absolute delight to meet the lovely Katrina Rufeea and fellow members of KGH Timewarpers, Sharon Rice, Julie Gardiner, Anne Bradley, Trudy Rollings and Amber Moore, when they gathered together recently to present a huge donation to the Intensive Care Unit team at Kettering General Hospital to benefit the new ICU Rehabilitation Garden.

This year’s successful KGH Panto, Weldon the Wizard, captured the hearts of so many attendees that the Timewarpers raised more than the £2,000 target they had set and so, they chose to donate the £2,000 to the ICU garden project.

Thanks to HCA Holly Worland who gathered together some of the ICU Rehab team and some patient ambassadors
Amongst those whose hearts this year’s performances captured was hospital Chief Executive Officer, Debbie Needham, who kindly came out to meet the thespians and gave her personal thanks to them for what do.

The panto provides a wonderful social and thoroughly enjoyable event for staff and all who attend.

Amongst the many other attendees were Interim Group CEO of University Hospitals of Northamptonshire, Andy Callow and KGH Director of Nursing Fiona Barnes.

When we met, the skies rained down hail and a torrential deluge meaning we sheltered in the Atrium for a larger group photo.

Luckily, the weather cleared up a short while later, so we were able to swing by the garden for another few photos.

Katrina said:

I would like to thank everyone involved in this year’s panto and to our amazing audiences for their continued support over the past 24 years.

We are delighted to have raised £2,000 for this year’s very worthy ICU Rehab Garden appeal.”

Next year marks the 25th KGH Panto and we cannot wait to find out what the performance will be.

In fact, we’d like to reserve our tickets now please!

Thank you so much to Katrina, and everyone involved with the KGH Timewarpers.
