Alison Hart, Sally Brewer, Christian Francis & Nikki Hunt receiving their medals and certificated after their skydives.
17-year-old Thomas Cole jumped for the NGH Specialist Palliative Care Team, on which his mum works.
They did it!!
On Sunday 19th September, we had 12 daredevils who took on one of the biggest and most white-knuckle of challenges.
A huge, huge thank you to all 12 of our fabulous fundraisers who jumped out of a moving plane at 13,000ft to skydive for the NHS areas closest to their hearts.
Thanks to these wonderful people, over £8,500 was raised from our first charity skydive day – all for a range of areas – to fund projects and initiatives to enhance patient care and experience above and beyond – across all three local NHS Trusts that Northamptonshire Health Charity supports.
WELL DONE to Alison Hart, Nicola Hunt and Sally Brewer aka the Paddington Bears, who together raised a whopping £1,581 towards the children’s wards outside play area appeal.
This is for a new play area that is going to bring massive benefits to all children who stay at Northampton General Hospital (NGH).
And also, a huge thanks to Christian Francis who did the jump to support his partner, who also works on Paddington – Christian raised a fantastic £450 towards the appeal!
A big thank you also goes to 17-year-old Thomas Cole who raised an incredible £996 for the Specialist Palliative Care team at NGH.
His mum Hayley, who works on the team is super proud of Thomas on this wonderful achievement, two years after he raised over £500 for the team taking part in our abseil day, enabling them to purchase some new Zed Beds for relatives of patients to use while they stay with their loved ones at the end of their lives.
Calee Litteken – Counsellor for Depression, Senior Assistant Psychologist IAPT Talking Therapies Northants
Also jumping for NGH were Aimee Smith and Dalia Qarawi from Hawsons Accountants – they raised £1,007 for the children’s outpatients department.
WELL DONE to counsellor for depression at IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) Talking Therapies for Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHFT), Calee Litteken who raised an incredible £543!
The funds will help to provide even more resources to local mental health patients across Northamptonshire as well as advanced training for staff to further enhance their skills and the services they can offer to people.
WELL DONE to Katie Sharkey, Rachel Davison and Lorraine Norwood, who raised a whopping £2,637 – with £1,318.50 going to HC Pretty Ward at Kettering General Hospital (KGH) on which they work and the other £1,318.50 going to the Twinkling Stars appeal.
The funds for HC Pretty Ward are going to be used towards items that will enhance care and experience for patients on the ward during their stay.
Also, a huge thanks to KGH midwife Melissa Gurr who was petrified, but who ended up raising a fantastic £970 towards the appeal for the new maternity bereavement suite.
This was a really wonderful first-time event for us and we are so grateful to everyone who signed up and helped to raise this amazing amount for our local NHS teams.
Take part in our 2022 Skydive day on 15 May next year and raise funds for the ward or department that means the most to you.
Booking will open very soon!
