Cowper & Newton Lodge donate £518 to Children’s Wards

Thank you to Mr Michael Read and members of Cowper and Newton Lodge for choosing to support the children’s wards at the hospital.

Mr Read contacted the hospital and spoke to Paddington Ward Sister Chris Wood, who mentioned to him how they would eventually like to renovate the outside play area situated in the middle of the two children’s wards.

We are even more grateful to be in receipt of this donation due to the fact Northampton General Hospital falls just outside of the area typically covered by Cowper and Newton Lodge.

However, Mr Read expressed how he really wanted the donation to go to a local charity and enhancing this play area is a worthy cause to support.

Mr Read came in last week to meet Chris, Disney Ward Sister Jan Matthews and other staff from the wards to present them with this donation and find out more about the plans for the garden area.

Being able to revitalise the area and enhance the environment for patients and their siblings will have a huge impact.

We’d like to thank all the members at Cowper and Newton Lodge who have helped towards this donation from their various fundraising activities over the past year.
