[caption id="attachment_3870" align="aligncenter" width="980"] Robin Chapman came in to present the funds raised during his time as Worshipful Master of Ceres Lodge No.6977.[/caption] It was a real pleasure to meet the lovely Robin Chapman recently.
During his time as Worshipful Master of Ceres Lodge No.
6977 for 2018/2019, Robin chose to fundraise in aid of the children's wards at Northampton General Hospital via Northamptonshire Health Charity.
This is because of the wonderful dedicated care his son Sam received when he was young.
From the age of 4, Sam spent a lot of time on Disney ward when he was repeatedly admitted with severe symptoms and doctors at the time didn’t discover the cause.
We can’t even begin to imagine how much more frightening this must be, both for Sam and for Robin and his wife, not knowing what was causing these problems.
Receiving such thorough and dedicated care from Dr Hewertson and his team until he was 15 years old, together with the support for Sam’s mum and dad, is why Robin decided that he just had to support the children’s wards when his time as Worshipful Master came.
We are hugely grateful to all the members of Ceres Lodge for supporting Robin with his many fundraising activities throughout 2018 and 2019.
These included a fantastic summer garden party at the end of June, a quiz night and a car rally.
Robin explained more about the car rally when he came in and it sounds like an incredible amount of fun.
It certainly puts the FUN into FUNdraising, that’s for sure.
Further funds were raised via raffles held at the Lodge meetings.
We'd like to thank Robin & the members of The Ceres Lodge for raising a wonderful £1,079.90 from all these fantastic activities.
This money will go a long way to enhancing the care given to children on Paddington and Disney.
It is going towards the purchase of two mobile auroscope and ophthalmoscopes.
This extra equipment available to hand on the wards means more children can be examined more quickly, reducing waiting times and the distress this can cause.
Thank you so much for making this difference!
