Teams across Northampton General Hospital were urged to listen out for their doorbells on Monday 23rd November, as the hospital celebrated the very first Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Nursing Support Workers Day.
The Professional and Practice Development team approached Northamptonshire Health Charity with a few ideas of how they'd like to celebrate the hard work and dedication of the hospital's Healthcare Assistants (HCA), Maternity Support Workers (MSW) and Theatre Support Workers (TSW).
It has been a tough and challenging year for all of us but even more so for our NHS teams who are currently working longer and harder shifts through this second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
Thanks to the kind donations from the local community and all the wonderful ways funds are being raised for us in spite of the challenges being faced, the charity are really pleased to have been able to provide some sweet treats for all the nursing support workers across the hospital to help with marking this day.
The Professional and Practice Development team worked really hard on the day to make sure every support worker was reached, giving them a lovely thank you card from the Executive team along with the their treats.
We were also able to give some awesome prizes to the team to use as part of a free prize draw for all of the Healthcare support workers.
A huge thanks to Experience Days, NEXT and Morrisons (Northampton Town Centre) for kindly donating some of these prizes.
“Massive and sincere thank you to everyone who has donated to Northamptonshire Health Charity.
Rob and the Team have been fabulous in their communication and support with donations to make our Healthcare Support Workers Day a major success.
In the midst of a pandemic it’s important to recognise every member of staff who make up Team NGH , and Healthcare support workers who are integral to this, along with those who care for the carers i.e Greenheart.
Thank you for your continued support” Mandy Massey- Interim Head of Professional and Practice Development and Gillian Ashworth Associate Director for Professional Practice Development Thank you for helping us to keep making a difference!
