The company actively encourages its staff to get involved in fundraising and with raising awareness for good causes.

Also, the staff at each store are able to allocate a specified amount to a charity.

Last year, the ten staff at the Rushden Lakes store were each given £100 and chose to collectively donate the overall £1,000 to The Squirrels.

It was thanks to a letter dropped in at the store by Stephanie Harrison from The Squirrels that the staff became aware about the fundraising for a wheelchair roundabout.

It was lovely to meet Rachel Lee, Mia Rogers and Helen Butler when collecting the £1,000 cheque recently.

Helen explained how the letter they’d received from Stephanie resonated with her on a very personal level and how all the staff were happy to support something for a local cause that will have such a positive impact on the children staying at the short break centre in Rushden.

The Squirrels is a 6-bedded bungalow operated by Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

The centre offers short breaks for children from 0-18 years with complex health needs and life-limiting illnesses and disabilities.

The Squirrels philosophy is to always put the child first and ensure that they are able to have fun and play.

Having a wheelchair roundabout in their garden would enable staff to offer children a sensory and stimulating activity that would otherwise be unavailable to them.

To just be able to feel the wind in their faces and be inclusive in play with their peers would be wonderful.

Would your company like to raise funds in aid of Northamptonshire Health Charity to help us support enhancements to care and experience for patients and service users?
