The appeal was chosen by a T&W Civil Engineering employee and his wife whose personal experience made the cause especially meaningful. Martin Burchnall, Managing Director of T&W Civil Engineering, said, “We are thrilled to support the Daisy Suite Appeal with a £20,000 donation. At T&W Civil Engineering, we take great pride in supporting local causes, particularly those that have a close connection to our employees. The work being done by Northamptonshire Health Charity to create a dedicated space for bereaved families at Northampton General Hospital will help bring comfort and dignity to those facing unimaginable loss. We hope that the money we’ve raised helps to get the work started. We’d like to thank all our suppliers, subcontractors and clients that donated so generously on the day.”
The event brought together 96 players across 24 teams, including over 40 of T&W’s suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. Staff members organised the day, which featured a shotgun start, Stableford format, breakfast, dinner, goody bags, and fundraising activities such as raffles, auctions, and on-course challenges including longest drive, nearest the pin, and beat the pro.
Omega Lining Solutions claimed victory in the competition, though their winning score sparked some light-hearted debate among the rest of the teams!
The charity hopes that events like this will inspire further support to make the bereavement suite a reality. Sharon Harrison, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Northamptonshire Health Charity said, “We are so grateful to T&W Civil Engineering, and to everyone who took part in the Golf Day for raising such a phenomenal amount for the Daisy Suite Appeal. This donation brings us significantly closer to creating a dedicated, comforting space at Northampton General Hospital for families experiencing the heartbreaking loss of a baby. The dedication and generosity shown by everyone involved is truly moving, and we hope it inspires others to support the appeal.”
