Northamptonshire Health Charity is excited to launch its "Elf Service" appeal to bring joy to…
Danielle’s 7 marathons in 7 days for local cancer patients
Running a marathon is one heck of a tough challenge in itself. Imagine our surprise then, when Danielle Mellows got in touch with us to let us know she was taking on not one, not even two but SEVEN full marathons in just seven days!
The reason Danielle took on this 7 in 7 running challenge was to raise money for Northamptonshire Health Charity in aid of the new Macmillan Cancer Information Support Centre that is being built at Kettering General Hospital with thanks to funding from Macmillan.
Kicking it all off with her first ever London Marathon, Danielle raised an amazing £2,506 for us as she ran the 182 miles across the week in October. How incredible is that!?
These funds will benefit local cancer patients by enabling the new support centre, where Danielle is Support Service Lead, to offer enhanced services and treatments that really make a difference to people going through their treatment.
It was great to be there to cheer Danielle over that final finish line of her seventh marathon, which she timed to coincide with her local Corby Park Run.
We would like to send Danielle another great big thank you for raising this fantastic amount for the centre and we look forward to sharing further updates once the building is complete.
