Applying for funding

Thanks to our generous supporters, Northamptonshire Health Charity is able to help Trust teams go above and beyond what the NHS could do alone making a real difference for both patients and staff. Please note: while applications remain open, new limits apply to requested amounts.

We have reached our expenditure budget for this year

Since April, we’ve received over £1 million in funding requests and have awarded more than £650,000 to Trusts through our grants programmes. This funding has enabled teams across the Trusts to bring innovative ideas to life—projects that make a real difference for patients, staff, and the wider community.

You can still apply for charity funds; however, please note that limits are now in place on the amount that can be requested.

It’s inspiring to see so much creativity and dedication in action. From major initiatives to smaller, targeted projects, every idea we fund plays a part in improving care and the working environment.

Funding eligibility

To be eligible for funding, applications need to align with the charity’s criteria and fit with the Trust’s processes and usual ways of working, including care pathways and key governance requirements such as IT, IPC, Fire safety, and health & safety.

Please remember, we are looking to fund projects that make a real difference for patients and deliver improvements that last.

Please consider the information needed to complete the application form.

Please provide the relevant details based on the type of funding you’re applying for:

If you’re requesting medical equipment, please include:

  • Confirmation of approval from the Medical Equipment Committee
  • Where the equipment will be stored
  • Training requirements and who will cover the cost (include in your financial breakdown if you’re requesting charity funding)
  • Initial consumable costs (include in your financial breakdown)
  • How ongoing consumables will be funded

Please let us know:

  • How many staff will benefit & How patients will benefit, directly or indirectly

Please confirm:

  • You’ve contacted the relevant Trust teams & Trust approval has been obtained before submitting your application

Take a moment to consider how your idea aligns with the purpose of the Charity. Does it help improve patient experience, enhance the environment, or support staff wellbeing and development? The strongest applications demonstrate a clear need, realistic outcomes, and a meaningful impact, and evidence that the appropriate trust team has endorsed your idea.. We encourage you to be specific and thoughtful with your ideas, this helps us to support the most inspiring and effective projects across the Trust.
